Hundreds flocked to Żebbuġ, Gozo for this year’s 'ħarqa tan-nar tal-art' (ground fireworks display), held as part of the Assumption of Mary feast 🎆 The highlight of the night was the ignition of two enormous irdieden (traditional Maltese Catherine wheels), set off from a rooftop and perfectly synchronised with music. Gozo has been hit with heavy rain and thunder, with the storm particularly affecting the area around Żebbuġ. According to the Malta International Airport, an unstable airmass currently covers the central Mediterranean, bringing thunderstorms to the region.
