At the 39th Academy Awards, Oscar-winner Patricia Neal (Best Actress for 1963's 'Hud') received an emotional standing ovation from the audience as she made her first Hollywood appearance since a near-fatal stroke two years prior which left her in a coma and struggling to speak.
