Did you know the U.S. government gets audited too? We audit the government’s financial statements, but we haven't been able to determine if the statements fairly present the government’s finances. This was due in part to 1) serious financial management problems at DOD, 2) inadequate accounting for balances between federal agencies, and 3) weaknesses in the process for preparing the FY 2019 consolidated statements.
