After a 36-hour mission in the swamps of the Bangweulu Wetlands in Zambia, led by the Shoebill Nest Guards, our team collected the first shoebill egg of the year. This chick spent the whole canoe ride hatching inside a portable incubator donated by Darwin Chambers. The hatchling was welcomed into the Captive Rearing and Rehabilitation Facility, where it will be nurtured until it's ready to be released into the wetlands.
