Montgomery Bell State Park is home to Lake Acorn and if you haven't fished there, now is a good time to take a day trip. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency stocked the lake with over 1600 rainbow trout in December 2023 as part of the Bill Dance Signature Lakes Program. From now through March 31, it is catch and release only. On April 1, 2024, anglers will be encouraged to take their 5 fish limit home. It's called delayed harvest and should allow for plenty of fishing during the winter month
