42 pound Yellowtail caught from a San Diego Pier! This is the largest yellowtail we have seen caught from a pier in the last two years. Luckily @pditty619 was there to record the action of this two hour flight from late September 2025. Caught with a live bait and on 25lb test line. I am sure there are a lot more experienced yellowtail fisherman who can tell you all about how big these fish get but from the piers we very rarely see them come over the rails.
