After his desperate last-lap move on Taylor Gray last weekend at Martinsville Speedway, Sammy Smith’s wallet is going to get quite a bit lighter, following sanctions being handed down by NASCAR on Tuesday.

NASCAR has penalized Sammy Smith, Taylor Gray, and Jeb Burton after Saturday's Xfinity Series race at Martinsville, which attracted huge criticism from the sport's veterans. Smith has been slapped with a reduction of 50 points for crashing into Gray in the last lap of the race, in addition to a massive fine of $25,000.

Things got ugly at the end of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway, and both drivers involved ended up losing out at the checkered flag.
