A Batman #1 doesn’t come along very often. Well, unless you’ve been reading comics for the past 15 years, in which case, it’s come along a couple times already. Modern comic books! But even then, in what is about to be eight-and-a-half-decades of Batman that’s still not a lot of relaunches–and DC is going all-in to make this fourth one stand out.

Batman will relaunch with a brand-new #1 with the new creative team of Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez, along with a new Batman costume

Writer Matt Fraction will be taking over writing duties for Batman #1. The relaunch will have significant changes including a new costume for the character, a redesigned Batmobile, and a fresh Gotham City aesthetic. Batman will trade in his black and grey suit for for a more vintage-inspired blue and grey costume.
