The tribute show "Legacy on Ice" will feature dozens of the most well-known faces in American figure skating, from Peggy Fleming to Nathan Chen.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – The Detroit Skating Club paid tribute to the skaters lost on Flight 5342. People packed the stands for the Saturday’s event titled Skate for Flight 5342. Although none of the victims were from Metro Detroit, many local skaters had close ties with the victims of the Jan. 29 crash in D.C.

Nathan Chen, Nancy Kerrigan and Peggy Fleming are among a bevy of figure skaters added to the cast of a benefit event this weekend in Washington, D.C., for victims of the midair collision and crash outside Ronald Reagan International Airport.

Nancy Kerrigan, Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton and Brian Boitano are among the skaters participating in the benefit event.

The figure skating tribute event “Legacy on Ice” will take place on Sunday, March 2 to support the victims of the midair collision and crash outside Ronald Reagan International Airport. The event will be held at Capital One Arena in D.

The figure skating community will gather Sunday in Washington, D.C., to remember the victims of the Jan. 29 aircraft collision that killed 67 people, including 11 young skaters and members of their families.
