Maps show a 521-mile stretch of snow from John O’ Groats to Stoke-on-Trent. At 6am, large parts of England will see rainfall with snowfall mainly sticking to Scotland. By 12 noon, the maps show that patches of snow could be seen in other parts of England.
In a new update forecasters said that the weather was turning very chilly - and added that people should watch out for ‘warnings around snow’. The Met Office said after a spell of persistent heavy rain, high pressure will settle the weather across the UK, bringing widespread cold conditions and some wintry hazards.
Weather maps predict the first snow to fall around 6pm on Friday, November 14. Just a few centimetres are forecasted in northern Scotland, particularly around Inverness. However, the snow could ultimately reach as far south as northern England, according to British Weather Services' senior meteorologist, Jim Dale, reports the Mirror.
Snow is set to hit quite a bit of Britain this month, with a staggering 24 cities to be covered in white, according to the latest weather maps.
The Met Office has issued a 24-hour weather warning covering Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire. Parts of the region are being told to prepare for possible flooding, with heavy rainfall forecast.
