Storm Warning was issued for York and Adams County for Sunday by the National Weather Service in State College, with a snowstorm expected.

The storm expected to drop 6 to 8 inches of snow in New Jersey will start as rain in southern counties around dawn.

The particularly dangerous situation alert is relatively new to Southern California but has been issued before the recent wildfires that have caused devastation across LA County.

A winter storm watch will be in effect Sunday for much of eastern Pennsylvania, including the Poconos. In Carbon and Monroe counties, 6 to 10 inches of snow is possible, the National Weather Service said Friday afternoon when issuing the watch. For Pike and Wayne counties, 5 to 9 inches is possible, the NWS said.

The wind chill in Columbus dropped as low as -5 degrees overnight, and as of 6 a.m. the air temperature was 5 degrees with a -3 degree wind chill

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for New York City, effective from 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, until 4 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20.

The Marquette NWS office said wind chills in some areas could reach 44 below zero early in the week and residents should prepare.

There's a very slight chance that the very northern tips of a few Florida Panhandle counties could see a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow.
