After one year away from WWE, Kiana James is back from her knee injury, competing for the first time on "WWE Main Event" (with photos).

Kiana James was back in the ring on WWE Main Event. This was James’ first match since June 2024 when she competed on WWE Raw in a Money in the Bank qualifying match against IYO SKY and Zelina Vega. In April, James confirmed she suffered a leg injury and was in the middle of her rehab.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlePurists ), WWE's original plans called for the WWE Championship bout between John Cena and Cody Rhodes to be the main event of Night 2, potentially with the inclusion of a stipulation.

The veteran wrestling journalist addressed specific issues the WWE Hall of Famer raised after his retirement match on Saturday Night's Main Event.
