Ukraine managed to wrangle some more favorable terms out of the United States before signing the long-awaited minerals deal on Wednesday.

The Trump administration did not immediately provide details about the agreement, and it was not clear what it meant for the future of U.S. military support for Ukraine.

Ukrainians hope the agreement might reverse the president’s refusal to sell critical air-defense systems as Russia has bombarded the country with massive drone, bomb and missile assaults.
