DALLAS (KCTV) - Patrick Mahomes’ rehab process is underway, just one day after the three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback tore the ACL in his left knee. The Kansas City Chiefs announced that Mahomes underwent surgery Monday night in Dallas.

Seventeen years apart, Mahomes and Brady suffered season-ending knee injuries after Super Bowl losses, sparking striking parallels in their careers.

Mahomes' ninth season will end with him watching the Chiefs missing the playoffs. In an odd coincidence, NFL legend Tom Brady suffered a torn ACL in his knee during his ninth season. That came in the Patriots' opener, which was against the Chiefs. New England missed the playoffs that season.
