The freshman quarterback made his first career start for the Tigers and was spectacular, accounting for 401 yards and six touchdowns as Auburn pummeled the Bears 62-17. Knight ran for 162 yards and four touchdowns — including a 75-yard score on the first play of the game, and also completed 15 of 20 passes for 239 yards and two scores.

Many consider Auburn's game against Mercer to be a cupcake win, but there are plenty players the Tigers must key on.

Despite Auburn leading the all-time series against Mercer 13-0, including an 8-0 record in games played in Auburn, interim coach DJ Durkin respects the Bears for the season they are having in 2025.

Eastern Kentucky will try to break its three-game slide when the Colonels take on Mercer. Saturday's meeting is the first this season between the teams.
