After a disappointing season, the Los Angeles Lakers are due to make big decisions about their future. While some fans are calling for a change in the coaching department, the latest intel out of LA suggests that the team's management still believes in Redick and his ability to lead their locker room for the foreseeable future.

As for first-year coach JJ Redick, his standing in L.A. may be the clearest despite getting rather quickly knocked out of the postseason by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the five-game series. Redick's job is safe, team sources recently told The Athletic, and the Lakers are "optimistic about his future with the franchise."

Redick found less postseason success than the Lakers' last few first-year head coaches. Frank Vogel made his Lakers debut by leading the team to a title in the 2020 bubble playoffs. Darvin Ham capped off his first season in Los Angeles by taking the Lakers to the 2023 Western Conference Finals.
