The Chicago White Sox received “two high-octane arms,” GM Chris Getz said, in pitchers Jordan Hicks and David Sandlin from the Boston Red Sox for prospect Gage Ziehl.
With both Hicks and Sandlin being added to the White Sox 40-man roster, Chicago made a couple of subsequent moves by designating RHP Jairo Iriarte and catcher Drew Romo for assignment.
Hicks was one of the players acquired for Rafael Devers last season, and the Red Sox acquired a minor league pitcher in Sunday's trade.
