South Korea has been projected to grab three gold medals and finish 14th in the medal table at the upcoming Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
The Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics' sports programme began on Wednesday with the curling mixed doubles, which started two days before the opening ceremony in Milan. Four matches will be held at the Cortina Olympic Stadium in Cortina d'Ampezzo on Wednesday in the first sporting event at the 2026 Games which officially run between February 6-22.

South Korea enters 22nd in Italian alphabetical order at Winter Olympics
The South Korean delegation will enter the stadium as the 22nd out of 92 nations during the opening ceremony of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, scheduled for 4 a.m. on the 7th (Korean time). The relatively early entry order was determined by the Italian alphabetical sequence of participating countries.
With the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy only days away, South Korea on Thursday vowed to make its new winter sports history next month, aiming for a top 10 medal finish.
Eight countries took the ice during round-robin play, including two medal winners from the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. Silver medalists Norway took on Great Britain, while Sweden, which took home the mixed doubles bronze in 2022, faced off against South Korea. The two other matches featured Canada vs. the Czech Republic, and Estonia vs. Switzerland.
