The ASUS Zenbook S 16 powered by AMD's Strix Point Ryzen AI 300 series processors is an excellent all-around performer that offers great battery life.

The Ryzen 4000 mobile series is based on AMD's latest generation Zen 2 architecture (same as found within its Ryzen 3000 desktop CPUs), with onboard graphics based on Vega.

Another difference is more of a positive though: the Asus ExpertCenter PN54 has two 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports, while most NUC-branded mini PCs have just a single Ethernet port.

AMD announced desktop versions of its Ryzen 8000 processor family at CES 2024, adding Ryzen AI to its desktop chips. But there are new Ryzen 5000 desktop processors for the AM4 socket, too.
