Will C.J. Stroud play for Texans against the Bills on "Thursday Night Football" in Week 12? Here's the latest injury update on the Texans QB:
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is "very close" to returning from a concussion, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is sitting out his third straight game in Week 12 due to a concussion. Here's when we can expect him to return to the field.
The Houston Texans will be without star quarterback C.J. Stroud when they take on the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, as the 24-year-old remains in the concussion protocol.
While Mills has proven he can step in when needed, Stroud raises the Texans' offensive ceiling significantly, which makes Thursday's game against a top-ranked offense like Buffalo (averaging 387.4 total yards per game) all the more worrisome.
But with the Texans hosting the Bills on Thursday night, Stroud is still unlikely to play in Week 12. That puts Davis Mills in line to start another game, though Stroud may be able to return for Houston’s Week 13 divisional matchup against Indianapolis.
According to ESPN's D.J. Bien-Aime, Stroud is anticipated to return to practice for the Texans on Tuesday following his two-week absence due to being in concussion protocol, which gives him a chance to be activated before Thursday Night Football against the Bills.
Footage showed Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud looking unpleased that Davis Mills was being praised in the locker room.
