Longboat Key police have made another arrest in the 2017 double murder at the Zota Beach Resort. This time they say they charged the man who pulled the trigger.

Longboat Key Police Chief Pete Cumming said during a news conference Friday officers were called to Zota Beach Resort about 3 a.m. and found two bodies. Both men died of gunshot wounds.

A man has been arrested in connection to the 2017 double murder at the Zota Beach Resort, a case that has haunted investigators and the Longboat Key community for years.

Impacted properties include the Opal Sands Resort and Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach as well as the Zota Beach Resort and The Resort at Longboat Key Club on Longboat Key, among others.
