Robert Barnes, 36, pleaded guilty to killing Lucila Barnes in 2021 in exchange for a lighter sentence, Harris County DA Kim Ogg said.

Robert Barnes told relatives he'd dropped off his mother, Lucila Barnes, at the airport. Her body was found dismembered inside a homemade box in her home.

Robert Barnes will be locked up for the next four decades after pleading guilty to murdering his mom, severing her legs, and hiding her remains in a homemade box in 2021.
