St. Paul ICE raid: Leaders call for investigation into police use of force
St. Paul leaders are calling for an investigation into the city's police department over its presence during an ICE raid that led to clashes with protesters in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood.
According to the Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists, at least three journalists were injured by the less-lethal munitions deployed by St. Paul police. One journalist, identified as MPR’s Kerem Yücel, was taken to the hospital as a result of his injuries. He’s since been released and is recovering, according to MNSPJ.
