The Philippines is under high alert as Typhoon Fung-Wong is forecast to strengthen and make landfall on Luzon as soon as Sunday evening.

Typhoon Fung-wong made landfall on the main island of Luzon, prompting the evacuation of more than one million people, just days after an earlier storm killed over 200.

At least two people are dead after typhoon Fung Wong slammed into the northeast coast of the Philippines. More than one million people had to evacuate earlier this week.

Typhoon Kalmaegi brought fierce winds and torrential rains to Vietnam on Friday, killing at least five people and leaving widespread damage across the country’s central provinces, days after the powerful storm battered the Philippines and left scores dead or missing.
