If necessary, you can request for a new SIM card replacement. The SIM card might have been damaged and so your phone can no longer read it.

All of your contacts will be written to the SIM card, which is called a "SmartChip" on LG phones. Remove the SIM card and install it in a different phone to access the contacts you just copied.
