One of the most notable long-range sniper rifles used during World War II was the German Mauser Karabiner 98k.

Yet, while it wasn’t really the German’s version of the M1 Garand, the G43 was still a fine weapon that greatly improved on the bolt action Kar-98K.

Waffenfabrik Mauser—the maker of the German 98K bolt action rifle —instead offered the weapon for civilian sales.
