Before President Zelensky arrived at the White House, President Trump - who waited briefly outside before greeting his Ukrainian counterpart - was asked by a reporter if he felt it was going to be a good meeting. Trump gave no words in response, and flashed a thumbs-up instead.

"You’re not acting at all thankful," Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the extraordinary Oval Office meeting.

The Ukrainian leader came to Washington to prevent Trump from abandoning Kyiv in favor of Moscow three years into Russia’s war on his country but was met with vocal anger from the American president.
