After a long delay, the House is voting on a procedural motion, known as a rule, to advance the Trump megabill to the floor for full consideration. This is a high-stakes vote to see if Republicans can move forward on the megabill. It is a five-minute vote, but GOP leaders could hold the vote open for hours to flip holdouts.

The procedural "rule" vote was 219-213, with one Republican, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, joining all Democrats in opposition. At one point, five Republicans had voted "no" on the rule, while eight others did not vote, but Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., managed to sway them overnight.

President Trump is scheduled to sign the bill into law at 5 p.m. on July 4 at the White House, locking in tax reductions and Medicaid cuts.
