A look at Auburn football's future matchups through the 2032 season
Auburn football will face several quality nonconference opponents in addition to its grueling SEC slates over the next few years.
AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn Football and the Southeastern Conference announced Thursday the program’s 2026 schedule, highlighted by visits from LSU and Florida. Auburn will play six home games at Jordan-Hare Stadium, hosting Southern Miss (Sept. 12), Florida (Sept. 19), Vanderbilt (Sept. 26), LSU (Oct. 24), Arkansas (Nov. 7) and Samford (Nov. 21).
Here's a full look at Auburn football's 2026 schedule, which will be its first season under head coach Alex Golesh.
Auburn recently hired USF coach Alex Golesh after the Tigers’ fifth straight losing season. The school fired Hugh Freeze after a 4-5 start, and the Tigers went 1-2 under interim D.J. Durkin, missing a bowl game for the third time in four years.
Newly hired football coach Alex Golesh enters his first Auburn press conference with his family on Dec. 1, 2025. It’s only been 12 days since Auburn suffered a heartbreaking sixth consecutive loss to Alabama, but eyes on the Plains are looking forward to next season and we now have the dates in which the Tigers will take the field in 2026.
The Southeastern Conference announced on Thursday the Auburn's 2026 schedule. The season is highlighted by visits from LSU and Florida.
AUBURN, Ala.- The Auburn Tigers will complete their slate of playing every Division I football program in the state of Alabama in 2031 when the Tigers face the Troy Trojans, which was announced on Thursday morning.
With that said, here are the five games that could define Golesh’s first season. This will be Golesh’s first game as Auburn’s head coach, automatically making it one of the biggest games of the season, regardless of the opponent.
Coaches still need to be hired and rosters must be finalized, but what's a reasonable expectation for Auburn football in Year 1 under Alex Golesh?

How Auburn football has fared historically against its 2026 opponents
The SEC football scheduling format will transition from its traditional 8-game model to a 9-game model, effective in 2026. The switch will allow Auburn to play its traditional SEC rivals more often.
The Tigers’ 2026 SEC opponents include Florida, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Mississippi State. Alabama, Georgia and Vanderbilt are Auburn’s annual opponents, meaning it will play those teams every season until at least 2029.
