Concern is rising among AT&T customers who may be victims of a data breach.

Note: AT&T warns that while the data doesn’t include customer names, there are online tools publicly available often used to find the name associated with a phone number.

AT&T — the largest telco in the United States — said that the breached data included customers’ full name, email address, mailing address, date of birth, phone number and Social Security number.

A data breach compromised AT&T phone and text records from 2022 to 2023; officials are still investigating.

Data should have been deleted in 2018 AT&T told the FCC that it shared customer data with the vendor between 2015 and 2017, and that data was supposed to be "securely destroyed or deleted" by 2018 ...

The breach had a high number of impacted customers between May 1, 2022, and Oct. 31, 2022, with a smaller number of customers separately impacted on Jan. 2, 2023, according to AT&T.
