Despite a disappointing season that ended early due to a torn ACL, Michael Penix Jr. has earned a vote of confidence from Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank.

Ryan was asked a number of questions about his role on Tuesday, and also discussed the future of certain players, including Michael Penix Jr. The second-year Falcons quarterback showed signs of progress before partially tearing his ACL in Week 11. Penix should be back next healthy season, though.

On Thursday, team owner Arthur Blank was asked about the QB position, and more specifically, whether or not he believes Penix is the Falcons' franchise quarterback. Blank went on to say he looks forward to getting Penix back and that the team will decide on Cousins' future in the coming weeks.

Much of the Falcons’ chances for success hinge on how fast Penix gets healthy and continues his development in the NFL.
