The Atlanta Falcons are set to introduce Matt Ryan as their president of football on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. ET. The former league MVP is departing from his job as an NFL analyst at CBS to work full time for the franchise that drafted him with the third overall pick in 2008.

The legendary QB is expected to oversee the hiring of Atlanta's new coach and GM after Raheem Morris and Terry Fontenot were fired.

Ryan was asked a number of questions about his role on Tuesday, and also discussed the future of certain players, including Michael Penix Jr. The second-year Falcons quarterback showed signs of progress before partially tearing his ACL in Week 11. Penix should be back next healthy season, though.

Blank’s hiring taste was for first-time coaches — Jim Mora, Bobby Petrino (at the NFL level), Mike Smith, Dan Quinn and Arthur Smith all fit that mold. Raheem Morris had been a head coach, but more than a decade had passed since that time.
