UH dispatched Colorado to begin its Big 12 tournament run but the Cougars played much of the second half without one of their top players.

The Colorado Buffaloes rallied past West Virginia at the Big 12 tournament 67-60 and will now turn their attention to the Houston Cougars.

Playing in their third game in as many days, the No. 16 seed Colorado Buffaloes gave the top-seeded Houston Cougars an admirable fight in Thursday's Big 12 Conference men's basketball tournament quarterfinals.

Emanuel Sharpe scored 19 points before fouling out, and No. 2 Houston overcame an injury to veteran forward J’Wan Roberts in the second half to beat Colorado 77-68 on Thursday and advance to the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament.

Andrej Jakimovski had 25 points for the Buffaloes, who won twice in the Big 12 tourney as its first No. 16 seed to finish a trying season on a high note.
