The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reeling after giving up a 14-point fourth-quarter lead to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night to drop a second straight game within the division.

Fontenot has made some good draft picks, including running back Bijan Robinson, and wide receiver Drake London. However, some others have not panned out, and the Falcons defense has been an issue during his tenure, ranking no better than 18th in scoring since 2021.

Instead, Falcons center Ryan Neuzil, who was far behind the play at the time the ball came out, sprinted downfield, jumped into the pile and ended up with possession, a crucial fumble recovery that kept the Falcons’ drive alive, leading to a touchdown and ultimately a 29-28 win.

Last offseason, the Atlanta Falcons traded up into the first round of the 2025 NFL draft to select edge rusher James Pearce Jr. with the 26th overall pick. Pearce currently leads all rookies with eight sacks and has recorded at least one in each of his last six games.
