Fire officials say “challenging circumstances within the house," including items that were obstacles for firefighters, made it difficult to get to the trapped victims.

A house fire on Monday on Detroit's northwest side that left three people dead and injured another was likely started by the home's electrical system, officials said.

DETROIT – Three people are dead after a family home caught fire on Detroit’s west side early Monday morning. The Detroit Fire Department was called to the home in the 19000 block of Wildemere Avenue at about 6 a.m., Dec. 15. They arrived to the house in less than five minutes.
