Repairing your iPhone without shelling out lots of money to Apple has long felt impossible. But, with recent Right to Repair laws in the likes of Colorado and Oregon, the new iPhones are a bit easier to repair without ever setting foot in an Apple store.

Apple’s new iPhone 16e received a provisional 7/10 repairability rating and a broadly positive write-up in iFixit’s video teardown Monday. But one element came in for stern criticism: the USB-C port.

Among the various changes Apple brought to the new “budget” iPhone 16e model, there have also been upgrades in terms of its overall repairability as well. These updates to the design arrive from a teardown video shared by iFixit.
