The Qatar Olympic Committee has announced the creation of a bid committee for the 2026 Olympics and Paralympic Games.

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) said on Tuesday it was taking part in discussions with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) over the election process for the host city of the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The region has never hosted the quadrennial competition, but the door could open in the future. The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) on Tuesday confirmed its bid to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
