The museum/temp display was interesting. There was a lot to read and very little artefacts but it was interesting. In the small space you can hear the tour guide a lot which was a little distracting … Full review by Jbear697

Keith, when we were there last year, there was no problem finding parking, and it was free, but there was also a lot of construction going on to modernize the center, so not sure what that would mean for accessibility now, a year later. But it is a large complex, so there is also parking for other activities, like the symphony, so I don't think you need to be concerned about parking. In terms of food and drink - I don't recall anything in the center itself, but if you walk around the lake, close to where there are boats to rent, I remember seeing some places - it is pretty popular in the summertime.

It takes lessthan an hour for sure even if you read every display. I didn't see any audio tour availability, but there were plenty of tour guides (with non-German-speaking tourists) giving an interpretation of what was written on the displays. The 4 people in our traveling group were greatly disappointed that we paid full price for a meager temporary display. I wore earplugs to block out the distracting tour guides just so I could read the displays.

Age recommended is 14. I have small children 7,4 and 1 and no way to see it if they cannot come. are they restricted from entry or is it only advised. Also are the reasons bc the information is just too much? The pictures are too much? It's a place of only quiet and reflection? I want to make a good choice to not bring them if it is just too graphic, but I also would like the opportunity to go if it's more of a "you can keep them from looking at a few pictures" situation.
A:
It’s not that graphic, and I recall young kids there. I think it should be ok.

I entered as part of the Nurnberg pass so was included. Although it appeared the costs was not very much. It is easy to get to via light rail from main train station to right in front of center. A short walk (5-10 min) from the center is the rally grounds. There is a walking tour that that ends at the center although a separate fee is required to enter the center tour. (public transport included from Nurnberg to center)

Q:
Hi Do you have to pay for the rally grounds or the zeppelin field, after paying for the doc centre museum? are they separate? Secondly I would like to know if a 'tour' is necessary for the rally grounds. or if it's just something to go walking in. mY husband is very interested in War history, but we are not interested in a tour that takes many hours. Thirdly, I can see the zeppelin field's proximity to the museum on google maps. Do you suggest a walk the full distance around the lake after visiting it, or back the way we came. (We won't mind the long walk.) Thanks, Jenny.

Zeppelin Fields are a 15 minute (max) walk away. There is no need for a tour. The fields have been left to decay really. There are weeds growing through the stairs and the area that we imagine (Triumph of the Will) has been covered with asphalt, grass and mound of tires. Worth checking out, don’t expect too much. It’s free btw. Worth the walk if you’re there.
